 | | Welcome, Rochester Advocates of New Urbanism! | Jul 19, 2008 |
The purpose of this group is to gather individuals of like mind with respect to New Urbanism and Sustainable Development. These are urban design movements aimed to reform all aspects of development and improving infrastructure/resource efficiency. Help end suburban sprawl and urban disinvestment and create neighborhoods that are walkable and contain a diverse range of housing and jobs. Let's restore our urban fabric and communities! I hope to meet monthly, or more often if demand requires, to discuss/observe issues facing developers, prospective urban dwellers, and city planners. Going forward, we can work in close concert with agencies such as the Rochester Regional Community Design Center in order to influence flawed governmental policy regarding zoning, etc.
Members would get a room/streetscape full of ears sympathetic to a common cause and receptive to their urban concerns, especially those relating to our great city of Rochester. | Reviews | Jul 19, 2008 |
